Crafting Guide
Crafting centralizes in Sacrament hub benches unlocked via Danos building projects. Without smith tier upgrades, weapon damage plateaus — blocking main quest gear checks and Crucible progress. Crafting encompasses weapon/armor level ups, enchantment application, rune socket maintenance, and gem infusion.
Bench Unlock Order
Follow Sacrament walkthrough project priority: base smith → advanced smith → enchantment altar → infusion station as journal directs. Storage building prevents mat loss during long farming sessions.
Material Sources
| Tier | Zones | Uses |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Lowland Meadows, Rookery | +1 to +3 weapons |
| Mid | Marin Woods, Nameless Pass | Mid armor, runes |
| Late | Breach, Crucible | Masterworks prep |
Upgrade Economics
Upgrade primary weapon first; side weapons only after main DPS comfortable. Armor upgrades staggered by slot — chest highest priority. Do not exhaust rare mats on disposable gear before floor 5 respec.
Co-op Crafting
Realms share hub bench tiers — all members benefit from host Danos investment. Coordinate who farms which mat type to speed community project completion in Together sessions.
Systems detail: enchantments, runes, how to enchant.
Bench Location Reference
All crafting benches reside in Sacrament hub — exact positions shift visually as Danos projects complete but remain in crafting quarter per Sacrament map. Smith handles weapon and armor level upgrades. Enchantment altar handles elemental procs. Infusion station handles gems. Rune socket maintenance occurs at smith or dedicated rune bench depending on patch UI layout.
Material Duplicate Policy
Many crafting mats stack infinitely; rare boss drops may be one-time per playthrough — verify before selling unknown items. Co-op Realms share world drop spawns but personal inventory pickup — communicate need before boss kills. Twitch Drops and Founders Pack do not grant crafting mats — see codes page for legitimate rewards only.
Upgrade Failure Prevention
- Confirm correct item selected — irreversible on some tiers.
- Verify mat count before long farming return.
- Upgrade weapon before spending rare mats on side pieces.
- Pause before pre-respec enchantment on uncertain build.
- Check Equip Load after armor upgrade — fat roll surprise kills.
Endgame Crafting Loop
Masterworks crafting bridges Breach drops and Crucible tokens into pinnacle gear. Loop: Breach elite farm → hub bench → Crucible supplemental mats → repeat until Wind of Death, Fetid Club, or Falling Sky reaches Masterworks tier. Hardcore Breach drops may include exclusive cosmetic variants without stat advantage — prioritize functional upgrades first.
Bench Upgrade Dependencies
Advanced smith tier gates maximum weapon plus level which gates rune slot unlock which gates effective endgame build power. Skipping Danos project order creates invisible gear walls — follow Sacrament walkthrough project sequence religiously early game.
